Welcome to the Town of
South Thomaston

town closures

The Stump Dump will be closed Wednesday, December 25th. The Stump Dump will be open on December 26th 9 am to 4 pm.

The Town Office will be closed December 25th and January 1st.

Un-Save the Date

Unsave the date. And save this new one: December 21 for the Great South Thomaston Health Fair and Smoke Detector Giveaway. There will be COVID and flu shots from the Knox Clinic and sign up for free smoke detectors installed by the South Thomaston Fire Department. And more. Sorry about the date change – don’t come this Saturday!

Demo Debris Dump Stickers

The Town is in the process of re-evaluating the Demo Dump stickers and fee structure. The current stickers are set to expire on December 31st, but we are extending the expiration date until further notice. Please hang onto your current sticker until the new stickers become available.

Wreaths Across America

On December 14, 2024 at 12:00 pm (Wreath Placement Immediately Following Ceremony), Wreaths Across America will be at South Thomaston Village Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes.
Please help our location lay wreaths at as many graves as possible by going to wreathsacrossamerica and clicking the “Sponsor” button. If you go to the South Thomaston Lions Sponsor page (ME0122) we will get an extra wreath for every two paid for (at $17/wreath). You can also give a check (made out to South Thomaston Lions’ Club) to any of our Lions’ Club members. The cut-off date for this years’ wreath donations is December 3rd. We currently have 108 wreaths donated and our goal is 135.
If you would like to join us/help us lay the wreaths, please be at the Village Cemetery by 11:30 on December 14th.
Thank you so much for supporting South Thomaston Village Cemetery, Wreaths Across America and your local Lions’ Club!

GILFORD BUTLER CENTER

Thursday evenings offer a wide variety of activities 4-7pm. The Keag music jammers meet in the learning space. Bring your instrument of choice (we have a piano!) or just come to listen and sing along.
The crafters meet in the maker space to work on their projects or to learn something new. Most recently, we have been exploring 3 dimensional paper crafts including Moravian stars and triskele paper globes, materials provided.
The community room is open for games, puzzles, ping pong….fun for everyone.
And of course the library is open for business as usual. All are welcome!
