Call for Comments: Resilience Vulnerability Asessments

As you may have heard, St. George and South Thomaston are working on a joint Community Resilience Plan—a road map for our towns to mitigate and prepare for extreme weather, washouts, sea level rise, changing ocean conditions, energy affordability, and other resilience issues.

The Resilience Committee is asking for public review of four technical vulnerability assessments (VAs):

Infrastructure Vulnerability Asessment

Economic Vulnerability Assessment

Social Vulnerability Assessment

Public Health Vulnerability Assessment

After identifying risks in each area, the second part of the plan process is to investigate and prioritize strategies to address them.

Please provide any comments to Resilience Committee Chair, Eva Birk at [email protected] by Friday, July 24th. In particular, we would like information and/or photos of road locations where residents have experienced frequent flooding or washouts that the reports do not already capture.
