The Code Enforcement Officer (CEO) is responsible for administration and enforcement of all State laws/regulations and municipal ordinances governing land use including, but not limited to, Shoreland Zoning, Land Use, Subdivision, and Floodplain Management. The CEO is also specifically authorized to enforce the Town’s Public Landing Ordinances as well as State laws/regulations regarding automobile graveyards, junkyards and dangerous buildings. The CEO serves as Town liaison with the appropriate State and local agencies and as staff to the Planning Board and Board of Appeals. The CEO is appointed by the Select Board of South Thomaston and works closely with the Town’s Local Plumbing Inspector and Administrator. South Thomaston’s CEO is Terri-Lynn Baines.
